ABOUT ME
My name is Maria Fuentes...
… and I am Fontibula. I’ve been involved in film preservation since 2008, when I started the master program Preservation and Presentation of the Moving Image at the University of Amsterdam.
Since I graduated cum laude in 2010, I’ve worked in different aspects of audiovisual preservation, analog and digital, from cleaning and repairing films to digitizing video tapes. In 2017, I became a freelance digital film restorer, and I’ve had the pleasure to participate in several restoration projects as such. With a background in art history, my approach to film restoration is grounded in the ethical standards of archival practice. Respect and historical authenticity are important to me.
I’m based in the Amsterdam area of the Netherlands, but I’m used to working remotely with international teams. I am fluent in English, Dutch and Spanish (my mother tongue). Don’t hesitate to contact me if you may be interested in my services.
